“Sometimes you’ve got to let everything go—purge yourself . . . If you are unhappy with anything . . . whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.”- Tina Turner
I found this quote by living legend Tina Turner and it stuck with and pulled me from the rut I was creating for myself. Giving words to how I’ve been feeling in my life over the past 3 years.
Today hasn’t been the greatest day, but I used it to my advantage. Well, I was faced with some questions that I promised myself I wouldn’t give attention to. Did I make the right choice, What am I going to do and When is it going to change? These come riding the back of me not hearing anything back from job opportunities and the finality of my position within my previous employment position. The 2nd guessing of my plan is expected and natural. I know I can’t worry about the what-ifs, should-haves and could-haves, NOW. (For Pete’s sake its only the 1st month!!) Definitely not the time to think about giving up on what I know is the ultimate LIFE HAPPINESS move.
Staying focused on the end result will help me along. So, I devised another plan of action for the upcoming week. The largest component of the February 13th week plan- more networking and business canvassing. All these things in the effort of finding the best growth/learning opportunity for me. This lead me to another popular quote which explained the beginning of the next part of my life… (Which I’ve decided will contain many chapters in three parts kind of like a symphony.) “Defining myself, as opposed to being defined by others, is one of the most difficult challenges I face.” Carol Moseley-Braun
Don’t forget to do something for BHM (Black History Month) and keep on SMILING. I know I will… 🙂
I am truly inspired by your journey and I can assure u you’ve taken a step that many of us will never have the courage to do…
